Indications and contraindications for pulp treatment in primary teeth
The most important reason for doing the initial tooth until exfoliation is to preserve the space to prevent overcrowding in permanent dentition. In respect of the molars, as a rule, the most important is the time before the first permanent molars reached occlusion. Other important reasons are the conservation of masticatory function, to prevent a language, habits and preserve the aesthetics. in addition, it may be important to keep the primary teeth for psychological reasons, and the age and/ or mental condition of the child may require special treatment and consideration. If the permanent tooth is missing, it may be important to keep the primary teeth over a long period of time.
The following conditions, as a rule, contrary to the pulp treatment and tooth must be extracted:
- the presence of clinical and/or radiological symptoms, indicating severe inflammatory reactions in the pulp, cellulose, necrosis, edema, fistula or abscess;
- medically compromised children, particularly those with reduced resistance to infection, for example. children with severe violations of the terms;
- in irretrievably lost a tooth or less than two-thirds of the root, soe.. the rest of the time functions tooth short.
