Your child should avoid sweets, chips, and soda.

tooth decay and promote gum disease. Sticky candy like caramel can cause damage to the wire and weaken the brackets. Hard crunchy foods like popcorn, nuts, hard candy can break braces. Also, you should reduce foods like carrots or apples into small pieces.

How about oral hygiene? More important than ever
Braces have a tiny space where food particles and plaque get trapped. Your child should brush gently twice a day with
fluoride toothpaste and a soft bristle toothbrush and rinse thoroughly. They also need to floss between the curly braces and under the wire with the help of a thread embroidery floss.
